After a long climb, your reward is the placard at Donohue Pass.
Gurjeet on nearby Donohue Peak. It is a thousand feet higher than the Pass, but we climbed it for the view. Many peaks and interesting side trips are accessible from the JMT, but use your time wisely.
Donohue Pass
At just over 11,000' Donohue is the first of many high passes south-bound hikers will encounter. North-bound hikers must start by first climbing Mt. Whitney—a much tougher initiation.
